The UAE strongly condemned the Israeli authorities’ announcement to seize the headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in occupied East Jerusalem, suspend its activities and establish a settlement in its place, expressing its rejection of all measures aimed at changing the historical and legal status quo in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy expressed the UAE’s categorical rejection of the confiscation of humanitarian headquarters in the occupied Palestinian territories, or attacks on them or endangering the lives of their workers, appreciating the efforts made by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to support the brotherly Palestinian people and confront the difficult humanitarian conditions under the Israeli occupation.
Al Hashimy stressed the need to support all regional and international efforts to advance the peace process in the Middle East, as well as to put an end to illegal practices that threaten the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
